Recently a few people asked me if I had any cheat codes for the (now ancient) DOS game "The Hidden Below". That game was published in 1994 and was developed by Soft Enterprises, a company I co-founded way back when. I also happened to be the lead (and only) engineer on that game and recently came across the old source code - at least parts of it.
The only publicly known cheat code was "BLOSS RAUS HIER" which would skip to the next level. However... turns out we actually had a few more cheat codes embedded:
- "se rules": all weapons and ammo
- "no way": get the map
- "yes way": full map view
- "i see you": infrared vision
- "gotcha": night vision
- "all way": enemy scanner
- "heavy metal": invincible (toggles)
- "bloss raus hier": skip to next level
- "credits": get all keys
Note: These all have to be typed without using the shift key or any other modifies. Spaces are important. Please do not type the quotation marks though.
